Dr. Scott Tomar is a professor and associate dean for Prevention and Public Health Sciences at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry. With over 30 years of experience in community water fluoridation, he currently serves on the American Dental Association (ADA) National Fluoridation Advisory Committee and is the ADA spokesperson on community water fluoridation.

Dr. Tomar earned his B.A. and D.M.D. degrees from Temple University, his M.P.H. from Columbia University, and a certificate in dental public health, along with a Dr.P.H. in oral epidemiology from the University of Michigan. He also served as an Epidemic Intelligence Service officer with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Dr. Tomar is a diplomate of the American Board of Dental Public Health.
